Who are GDA(General Duty Assistant

General Duty Assistants are the healthcare professionals who ensure that immediate medical attention and timely assistance are provided to patients in hospitals, clinics, and old age homes. The responsibilities of a GDA are to ensure that those under their care receive timely medication, assist in daily routines and tasks that some patients will not be able to perform themselves, and also help maintain a suitable environment for a patient’s recovery.

The duration of the course is 6 months which includes one month theory class and 5 month on-the-job-training / internship opportunities in private hospitals The Jagruti foundation GDA course will train students to work as a certified nursing assistant in hospitals and home care scenarios.

Teaching topics of General Duty Assistant Program

The Jagruti Foundation Teach to their students in the one month theory class by Paramedical of Nursing staff(ANM /GNM). In this class we teach Fundamental of the nursing and arrange 4 class test of the students in this period. Our teaching topic such as:-

  • Soft skill
  • Rules & work of GDA
  • personal Hygiene
  • Vital sign( Blood pressure, respiration, Pulse , Temperature )
  • Bio Medical waste
  • Specimen collection
  • First Aid of the Wounds, Fracture, Foreign body, Burn, Bites etc
  • Care and knowledge of Bedsore, Vigo, catheter.
  • Position and movement ,
  • Use of Bedpan, Enema., Hot and cold Application .
  • Autoclaving, Injection, Oxygen Administration.
  • Dressing and bandaging
  • Medicine and Medication, feeding
  • Use and knowledge of Glucometer Sugar and Insulin Injection
  • Fever and Inhalation
  • Systems of Human Body .
  • Elderly Care (Back care sponging movement, feeding, dosing)
